STUART CROFTS

I am a Yorkshireman born & bred, I have fished since I was a boy and specialised in fly-fishing for over 35 years. I have been guiding since 1998, in 2007 became an Orvis-Endorsed Guide and in 2010 became an Angling Trust level one coach.

As well as a passionate “pleasure” fisherman I have also fished in many fly-fishing competitions and represented England on numerous occasions, including six World Fly Fishing Championships and six European Championships. In addition I was the very proud Captain of the gold medal winning England Rivers Home International Team in June 2000. I like to feel that I am proficient in all styles of river fly-fishing but especially fond of upstream dry-fly on small streams.

I take an active part in other field sports and I am a keen naturalist with a very special interest in river entomology (for obvious reasons!). I am a published photographer and written numerous articles on fly-fishing, entomology and river management. I regularly present lectures to clubs and societies on fishing related topics (see PRESENTATIONS for details).

Along with fly-fishing I am passionate about entomology and the protection of our rivers and the English countryside; I am a member of the Salmon and Trout Association, Wild Trout Trust, Grayling Society, Anglers Trust, Countryside Alliance, Buglife and Fresh Water Biological Association.

If you want a chat about any of the services on offer I can be contacted on the telephone, my number is 0777 3713132. If I do not answer (probably out fishing!) please leave a message with your name and number so that I can contact you. I can also be contacted on E-mail at:
