
STUART CROFTS
Stuart is a
Yorkshireman born & bred, he has fished since he was a boy and specialised
in fly-fishing for 30 years, he is well known among his friends and family as a
complete troutbum! Stuart has been guiding since 1998 and in 2007 Stuart became
an Orvis-Endorsed Guide.
As well as a
passionate “pleasure” fisherman he has also fished in many fly-fishing
competitions and represented
Stuart supports and takes
part in other field sports and is a keen naturalist with a special interest in
river entomology (for obvious reasons!). He is a published photographer and has
written numerous articles on fly-fishing and river management and regularly
presents lectures to clubs and societies on fishing related topics (see PRESENTATIONS
for details).
Along with the
fly-fishing Stuart is passionate about the protection of rivers and the English
countryside; he is a member of the Salmon and Trout Association, Wild Trout
Trust, Grayling Society, Anglers Conservation Association, Countryside Alliance
and Fresh Water Biological Association.
